My gosh do I miss traveling. During summer 2019, my family and I spent two weeks roaming through Italy. Rome is an obvious must-see with all the history and architecture. We were in Rome for about four days and we saw and did everything we could have imagined. The colosseum was beautiful. Learning the history of events that have taken place in the colosseum since it was built in 70 AD fascinated all of us. The Vatican sits in a small town within Rome and is worth the short travel. My favorite aspect of the Vatican was the intricate detail that lined every ceiling. The artwork on the walls and ceiling were breathtaking. Gold trim on everything with mixes of all colors and images. Ever have that one thing you want to do in a specific place? Well, mine was throwing a coin over my shoulder into the Trevi Fountain in Rome. This moment was my absolute favorite from our stop in Rome. Standing in front of the fountain made my heart skip a beat. I made a wish and threw the coin over my shoulder and cherished every moment of it. One night after dinner, my family and I decided to walk through the streets of Rome taking in the beauty. We ended up at the Spanish Steps, which is another gorgeous piece of architecture connecting two popular squares. You can’t walk through the city of Rome without going through multiple town squares. Piazza Navona was a large square we passed through multiple times. It is lined with restaurants and shops and has heavy foot traffic. Going to Italy was my mom’s dream and once we arrived I was the one that did not want to leave. Rome, I will be back don’t you worry! 🙂
